My children were sick all last week- they had it all- croup cough, fever, tummy aches, runny noses etc... Then I caught the bug too! I had planned a 'mental health weekend' with my friend from Charlotte, Michelle, for the upcoming weekend, and there were so many reasons to stay in town (i.e. nurse my children back to health), but at Scott's urging, off I went, sniffles and all! We retreated to Hilton Head where we basked in 75 degree weather, enjoyed a half day spa package, shopped 'til we dropped, ate at restaurants we would never bring our kids to, and slept, slept, slept!! It was a rest that I desperately needed and something I highly recommend. We both couldn't believe what a fun and perfect weekend it had been! Then, on the way home, as we cruised along in Michelle's husband's Saab convertible, we blew a tire!!! I have never had a flat tire in my life- the sound completely took me off guard and scared us to death! Well, 2 calls to AAA later, a call to AMEX roadside assistance, and still no help- we started hoping that someone might stop and help two very desperate looking women! And then it happened... our knight in shining... leather??? A motorcyclist pulled over donning a leather jacket that read 'Christian Motorcyclist Association'! Only in the south! Ralph was his name and he was the nicest old man on his way to 'bike week' in Daytona, FL! He got the tire changed and sent us on our way! He was our hero! (And of course I didn't have my camera with me! What a shame! I wish you could have seen him!)
