It's an odd world afterall

We have a thing for odd years and babies around here.

2003- Nate was born

2005- Grant was born

2007- Bennett was born

So here we are... it's 2009, no baby on the horizon, what to do?? Gotta keep life interesting right?? So....

We're going to Disney World!!!!!
(cue tinkerbell flying overhead and confetti falling from the sky)

I know, it's not a baby (hate to break the odd year streak), but the hours invested in planning, reading books to prepare, packing, driving, massaging sore feet, shopping for gear, trips to the bathroom and amusing the kids will practically equal 9 months of pregnancy. And honestly, 10 hours in a car with my kids is slightly longer and maybe more painful than actual labor. Maybe. And Grandma's coming! See, it's just like having a new baby... named Disney.

We told the kids last night at FHE, thinking we'd give them time to review their Disney flicks and emotionally prepare to be bombarded by giant fuzzy Disney characters. (And, maybe also hold it over their head in exchange for good behavior so I can pack, i'm not gonna lie. We all know what happens to liars- thank you Pinnochio).

We leave in a week. Nate fell asleep saying 'I'm just so excited, i'm already dreaming about what it will be like'. Grant asked me every hour on the hour today if it was time to go yet. I'm not feeling the magic yet... think happy thoughts, think happy thoughts....

But who knows... they say Disney World makes you feel like a KID again. Wink, wink.

(((p.s. any tips for doing Disney with kids for the first time?? I'm all EARS. ha ha. Do share.)))

Confused...

Getting dressed lately is tough... one day it's in the 40's, the next it's in the 70's. What to do???

This Boy

This adorable boy... what to do with him?

I've never experienced anything like him.

He is more capable, more physical, more laughable than my other two.

He keeps us on our toes with his wild antics and maturing skill set.

Things like:

-Diving into swimming pools
-Climbing out of his crib!!! Ahhhh!!
-Hanging on monkey bars
-Using deodorant (that's right ladies)
-Scaling the outside of our staircase
-Turning on and playing the Wii by himself
-Chewing gum and then spitting it out when he is done
-Undressing himself in his crib
-Showering for at least 30 minutes - don't try to rush him
-Starting the dishwasher
-Locking us out of the house

My baby is growing up too quickly... and frankly it's exhausting!!!!
